Happy Empress — Privacy Policy

Written in plain English on purpose, and it describes what Happy Empress actually does — not what a template says. If anything here is unclear, email us and we will explain it properly.
Who we are
Happy Empress ("we," "us," "our") creates personalized Human Design, astrology, numerology, and Chinese zodiac readings from the birth details you provide. This policy explains what information we collect, why, how we protect it, and the choices you have.

The short version
- We collect your birth details to create your reading, and your email to run your account.
- Your readings and birth details are stored privately and encrypted. Only you can see your readings.
- We will never read, share, or sell your readings or your birth details.
- Payments go through Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- You can download or delete your data — including your whole account — at any time.
What we collect
Information you give us:
- Birth details: your name, and your date, time, and place of birth. We need these to calculate and write your reading.
- Account information: your email address and a password (your password is stored in a secure, scrambled form — we never see or keep the plain text).
- Payment information: handled entirely by our payment processor, Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe; we never receive or store them. We only receive a confirmation that a payment succeeded.
- Anything you choose to save: the readings you generate and keep in your account.
- Birth details of other people, if you enter them: a compatibility reading needs two charts, and you can choose to keep someone's details so you don't type them again. If you do this, please read "Charts you keep for other people" below.
Information collected automatically:
- Basic technical information needed to run the service securely (for example, your device/browser type and general activity like "a reading was generated"). We keep this to a minimum and use it to keep the service working and safe — not to profile you.
- Which pages get looked at. We record the page you opened, the time, and a random identifier for your browser that means nothing outside our own records. If you are signed in, the page view is linked to your account. We use this to see which parts of the site people find useful and where they get stuck. We do not record your IP address, and this counting is done by us, on our own server, and shared with nobody. If you delete your account, your name comes off these records.
- Advertising measurement, when we are running ads. So that we can tell which of our advertisements actually work, we use Meta's advertising pixel — a small piece of Meta's own code on our pages. It tells Meta which pages you opened here and whether you made a purchase, and it sets its own cookies for that purpose. We never send Meta your birth details, your chart, or your readings. When we are not running advertising, this code is not present on the site at all.
Why we collect it
- To create your reading — your birth details are used to calculate your chart and write your reading.
- To run your account — so you can log in and return to readings you've saved.
- To process payments — through Stripe.
- To keep the service secure and working — basic technical and safety needs.
We do not use your birth details or readings for advertising, and we do not sell your information to anyone. Ever.
Charts you keep for other people
A compatibility reading needs two people, so you can save someone's birth details in your account — a partner, a child, a friend — rather than typing them again each time.
Please understand what that is, because it is different from everything else on this page:
- They are not a member and they have no account. We never email them, never contact them, and they cannot log in. What you save is a note in your account, not a profile of them.
- Only you can see it. Nobody else using Happy Empress can see who you have saved, and we do not use it to connect people to each other.
- It is your responsibility to ask them. Someone's exact birth time is personal, and it is not ours to take on your behalf. Please only save details for someone who is happy for you to have them. For a child you are responsible for, that is your decision to make.
- You can delete it at any time, from the same screen you added it on. Deleting is immediate and complete.
- If they ask us to remove it, write to us at the address at the bottom of this page and we will delete it, and tell you that we have.
- It goes when your account goes. Deleting your account deletes everyone you have saved along with it.
We do not use saved charts for anything except calculating the reading you asked for.
How your information is protected
- Your data travels over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.
- Your birth details and saved readings are stored securely and encrypted, and are visible only to you through your account.
- Our promise: we do not read your readings, and we do not share them with anyone. They are yours.
The trusted services we use
To create your reading and run the service, your information is processed by a small number of trusted providers, each under their own privacy and security terms. We do not sell your data to any of them, and they do not sell it either.
- Anthropic — the AI that writes your reading. Your birth-chart details are sent so the reading can be written. Anthropic does not use this data to train its models.
- ElevenLabs — only if you choose the optional audio narration. Used to turn your reading into spoken audio.
- Stripe — payment processing. Handles your card details directly and securely; we never see them.
- Render — securely stores and serves the app and your saved readings.
- Meta — only while we are running advertising, and only to measure it. Meta is told which pages you opened here and whether you bought something. It is never given your birth details, your chart, or your readings.
How long we keep your information
- We keep your account and saved readings for as long as your account is active.
- You can delete any reading, or your entire account and all its data, at any time from your account settings. When you delete your account, we remove your personal information and saved readings from our systems (some limited records may be retained only where the law requires, such as basic payment records).
Your rights and choices
You can:
- See and download the information and readings in your account.
- Correct your account details.
- Delete any reading, or your whole account and its data.
Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising them. To make any request, email us at policy@happyempress.com and we'll help.
Children
Happy Empress is intended for adults. It is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect information from, anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Cookies
We use the cookies needed to keep you logged in and the service working — including a random identifier that lets us count visitors without knowing who they are. When we are running advertising, Meta's advertising pixel also sets cookies, which Meta uses to measure and target ads. We do not share anything with third-party analytics companies.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and, for meaningful changes, let you know (for example, by email or a notice in the app).
